Blogging from the Omni Berkshire Place in Steamy NYC

Checked into my fave NYC hotel, the Omni Berkshire Place in steamy NYC. I love this hotel. Walk out the doors and you’re steps from Rockefeller Center, St. Patrick’s Cathedral, Central Park, Bryant Park, Times Square, Fifth Avenue shopping, great restaurants (I checked out an Indian restaurant last night that was great.) Okay, so let me gush about the Omni while I sip a crisp Sauvignon Blanc and nibble on nuts in the hotel’s hip Fireside restaurant. Nice crowd, Olympics on big screen TV’s and fun people watching (the lounge fronts East 52nd Street.) (The hotel is written up in my New York City Made Easy and New York City with Kids books, just an FYI.) My room has really cool blond wood covering one wall and the beds are dream-inducing. Tomorrow, I’m interviewing the teen concierge, yes, he’s a teenager and he helps parents of teenagers (God only knows they need it ), map out fun for teens in the Big Apple. I’ll blog more about my NYC weekend visit, so stay tune, I have lots to tell. But, for now, it’s back to sipping my vino and people watching. Happy August Friday night New Yorkers! Stay cool! And if you want some ideas for where to cool off in the steamy city, NY’s boutiques and tony shops have the A/C blasting–great spots to chill and snag the latest steal.
